The International Conference on Evolving Cities (ICEC2021) took place as a hybrid event (with both online and in-person delegates) in Southampton, UK from 22-24 September 2021. It brought together leading academics, policymakers, and industrialist to debate the role of cities in development, addressing climate change impacts and accelerating our transition to net-zero carbon. Over the course of three days, there were 11 keynotes, 49 oral presentations and 9 posters by delegates from 38 organisations from 19 countries. The themes of ICEC2021, facilitated debate in the most pressing areas facing cities. ICEC2021 was also part of the COP26 supporting events. This document covers the first Volume of submitted peer-reviewed papers for the 2nd International Conference on Evolving Cities (ICEC2021).
