Getting started with Research Professional

University of Westminster has a subscription to Research Professional and all staff are able to use it free of charge. It is the UK’s most comprehensive source of up-to-date information on available research funding opportunities. It’s the benchmark for such databases and is used by the majority of UK universities. Please have a read through the tips below, and contact the Research Office if you have any questions.

What can I use Research Professional for?

Research Professional is an online database of research funding opportunities and a great source of international research policy and news. You can browse the content of the site, create customised searches of its content according to your research disciplines and share this information with colleagues. You are able to set up weekly email alerts to receive pertinent funding opportunities straight to your inbox too. All the resources you should need to get started can be found in the Help section.

Not sure where to start?

If you are new to Research Professional, you might want to start by looking at the ‘Getting started’ section, or download the Quick Start Guide and User Guide, or alternatively you can contact the Research Office for assistance.

Register today!

Self-registration is quick and easy. For instructions please see the Quick Start Guide mentioned earlier. The benefit of registering is the ability to set up e-mail alerts and save funding searches, which will automatically update with the latest opportunities relevant to your discipline.
