Ready, steady, go…online: Black Friday Week is here

The 2018 sale has begun for the tech enthusiasts a week prior to Black Friday.

Black Friday sales have already started, even though the official date is on the 23rd of November. Amazon, Game and Argos launched their online deals today. The sale continues across the Black Friday weekend and would end on the Cyber Monday.

Whether you’re after a new television, laptop or phone, here’s everything you need to know about Black Friday, including how to get the best deals.

Back in 2010, Amazon introduced the originally American ‘Black Friday’ concept to the UK. Since then, the hype around the big day got Britons to “delay their purchases” stated the Strategy and Insight Director at IMRG – Andy Mulcahy for Telegraph (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/black-friday/2018/11/18/black-friday-2018-official-shopping-event-stores-will-have-best/). The high-volume event is not only about discounts, but giving brands an opportunity to get insights on the customers’ preferences and the dynamic of their shopping experience.

Mulcahy also suggests that the customers should research in advance in order to get the best deal, particularly because most of the retailers announce their offers prior to Black Friday. Such research could be made through uk.camelcamelcamel.com, as it offers an overall look on products’ price ranging.

Those are some of the retailers that aren’t waiting around for next Friday to announce their online deals:

Amazon – The online giant’s Black Friday sale begins today and runs until the 25th of November.

Argos – Argos’ discounts are launched today and will end on the 27th. Last year they sold 15,394 TVs, so we can only expect another record-breaking outcome this year.

Game – A full list of deals would be available on the 22nd of November, but for the enthusiasts, there are already many discounts listed on a range of games and console bundles.

Even though, spotting every shop’s best offers is part of the big day’s hype, many turn to the web to get their hands on desired goods. According to Retail Insight Network, it’s estimated that £5bn could be spent by the UK’s consumers over this year’s Black Friday, half of which online.
