On October 16th Karen Kufuor, International Student Tutor visited two French partner institutions; ESCE International Business School & ESG Management School, both based in Paris. Both institutions are part of the prestiguous Grand Ecole French higher education system and both institutions have recently moved to new campuses; ESCE is now located within walking distance of the Eiffel tower, while ESG Management has moved to Olympiades.
Each year a number of Westminster Business School students choose to undertake either one year or one semester on exchange studying at a partner institution abroad and France is always a popular destination. A one-year exchange is particularly beneficial for those studying International Business with French, where students will study a minimum of 50% of their modules in French. Students on other degrees will typically take all their modules in English.
Westminster Business School also welcomes a large number of exchange students; at the beginning of the current academic year 80 exchange students joined WBS from over ten different countries.
Westminster Business School also welcomes a number of direct entry students from overseas on to the Business Management degree. ESG Management sends approximately 20 such students each year to WBS to join the final year of the Business Management degree. The students complete one year at WBS before returning to Paris to complete their Masters degree.
As such each year ESG holds two International days to provide the opportunity for ESG students to meet representatives from partner institutions. Karen Kufuor was joined by Arielle Rochmann & Lenna Lyfoung, two ESG students who were direct entry students on the BA Business Management degree in the previous academic year, as well as Westminster Business School Business Economics student Shahela Kodabuckus, who is currently undertaking a one year exchange at ESG. The students were able to share their experience of living and studying in London with the potential students. While attending the international day Karen Kufuor took the opportunity to catch up with Shahela. “Paris is an excellent city” she said “ I am really enjoying my time at ESG. Its been good to study abroad and I have been able to broaden my education by studying a wider range of modules,’ she continued.
Overall the day was a huge success with approximately 40 students and their parents attending the Westminster Business School talk and about 100 students visiting the Westminster Business School stall for information.
