On 31st of March, the Start-up Pop-up Festival took place at Westminster Business School. WeConnectTalents visited the event and discovered the ideas and projects of young entrepreneurs from Westminster.
Students from the final year of the Entrepreneurship BA course and finale year Business Management Entrepreneurship and alumni presented 38 startups and businesses with their own stands to gain new potential customers, partners, mentors and investors. Moreover, this event was part of their academic assignment, which required students to be even more proactive and prepared for their presentations which was then evaluated by their professors, customers and investors.
The Pop-up Festival highlighted a rich variety of business ideas from tech startups and IT solutions to food pop-ups, fashion designers and other creative talents. Students were really engaged in networking, confident in explaining what their ideas were about and what the special benefits of their companies were.
Moreover, Margaret Mountford, the former judge of Apprentice was the special guest of the event who presented an inspiring speech for the students and celebrated the amount of £13.5K raised for social enterprises through their crowdfunding projects.
Based on our experience, it’s very important to run such events on a regular basis. So students can practice their entrepreneurial skills during their studies and, at the same time, to have academic and professional support and feedback on how they can run their business ideas in the future.
It was an enjoyable and lively event and look forward to seeing these bright entrepreneurs again. Good luck to all students with their entrepreneurial future. Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for some talent to be connected with.
