If you are interested in a 1 year work placement
Please sign into Blackboard and check the Undergraduate Placement Year Westminster Business School module and follow the link to Placement registration. For those who have registered online, your details have been added and you will soon start receiving emails and reminders to workshops and placement vacancies. For those of you on Facebook, please like our page .
All announcements, vacancies and information will be posted on Blackboard and sent out via dedicated email to the students who have registered their interest in a work placement.
A series of placement seekers workshops and employer presentations will run weekly throughout semester one to help you with placement preparation including CVs/letters, applications forms, interview advice, meeting employers offering placements and Industry expertise. The schedule is on Blackboard with some rooms yet to be confirmed. Most events will take place from 2.30pm onwards.
These will be complimented by weekly 1-2-1 sessions which are bookable online (you must be a registered placement seeker to attend).
The first workshop will take place on Wednesday 2nd October at 3.30pm in Hogg Lecture Theatre and will last up to one hour. Here we will introduce you to the Placement Year, give you a Seekers Handbook and advise you on what we will do to help you throughout the second year. On the 2nd October, be sure to also go to the Careers Fair and find potential placements. (For more information )
A one year placement is optional, by signing up, you are agreeing to be included on the seekers database and to receive emails about placements. You can withdraw your interest in a placement any time before the start of the final year. Registering for a placement, does not affect your student record nor is it officially recorded on your student record, giving you the flexibility to either find a placement or continue to the final year. It is also up to you how much effort you put in by attending the workshops which we are facilitating weekly.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the Introductory workshop in the Hogg at 3.30pm on Wednesday 2nd October.
