Why is it important to live an active life? I think the answer to a question about what lifestyle to choose is quite obvious one. Most of us would reply and agree on “of course active!”. But what does it really mean to live an active life besides going to the gym couple of days a week? As for me an active person is who has much more things to do than there are hours in one day. However, this person is able to finish all the tasks and to enjoy doing them.
Moreover, often such tasks are very interesting and exciting things to do which may include studying (or working or even both), attending exhibitions, seminars and trainings, learning new things, discovering new places, visiting cultural and historical places and much more. If you think about being active in this way you will definitely find something interesting for yourself, and hopefully not only one thing. But how to get to this stage when you include in your timetable all these “must do” points and have time to finish them? I know that we live in such a world where people may not have enough time even for every day routine not talking about something extra. If you are one of those people, there is a right time to change your attitude about an active life. The thing is that we live in London and we can not ignore the opportunities it gives us. We can not miss interesting and exciting events that are most of the time worldwide known and famous. These events could be films premiers and festivals, London Fashion Week, art exhibitions, concerts and big sport events (such as football and tennis). At the same time you can find useful events on a smaller scale. Here I can think of some conferences, workshops, trainings and exhibitions that may cover areas of your professional interest (which is good to attend even if you are a student).
And of course it’s good to bear in mind that London is a city where you can meet people from all parts of the world with different experiences and views having one thing in common – living in this fabulous city! So catch a moment! Go on the streets and make new friends, new connections! Be confident and believe in your own success and it will help you when you try to speak to a stranger on one of those events you attend. It is another thing why it’s exciting to be active – you go to variety of places and make broad connections so you always know how you are going to spend your free time! Also as a travelling addict I recommend you to explore the UK while you have such opportunity while living here. Go and see the legendary Liverpool – the motherland of Beatles, relax in Brighton, ancient Bath or students cities such as Oxford and Cambridge and lots of other beautiful British cities. Travelling is the best way to learn more about the culture, traditions and people itself.
And Great Britain is worth it! So be active, do things and enjoy your life!
