The Graduation Ceremonies are one of the highest profile events for the Westminster Business School where the Governors of the University, Chairman, Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and staff attend to recognise and congratulate graduating students. It is a wonderful time when we gather together as a community with graduands, family and friends to celebrate success.
The graduation ceremony has its origins in medieval times and the procession of academics and dignitaries with their colourful gowns and extraordinary hats to the tunes of the Westminster Brass makes for an impressive start and end to the ceremony. The Royal Festival Hall is a wonderful setting and it is one of the world’s leading performance venues in the heart of London.
During the ceremonies, it becomes the perfect setting for students to reflect back on their studies and lives and friendships in this wonderful vibrant city. These events are important to the staff too – we enjoy seeing our students achieve their degrees and many of us have memories of your hard work and struggles to reach your goal. The cheers fill up the hall as the students cross the stage and shake hands with the Vice Chancellor and this moment is often accompanied with the flash of photographs. Both before and after the graduation ceremonies, you see the students rushing to take photographs with the backdrop of the City, Big Ben, The Eye and, of course, The Thames.
Congratulations to all of our new graduates. The next step in your life will be challenging one but we believe that you can now go into the world with a up-to-date specialist knowledge, technical skills, and professional approach which will give you the competitive edge in your chosen careers. We wish you well in the future. Do keep in touch with us. We hope you join our alumni association and that you come back and visit us. We take great pride in your achievements.
Once again, congratulations to the class of 2013!
