Part-time students: Keith Porter (porterk@westminster.ac.uk)
Full-time students: Cecilie Bingham (c.a.bingham@westminster.ac.uk)
When do I need to attend classes?
Full time students can expect to attend on four days a week.
If you are part-time you attend either Monday 1430-2100 or Monday and Wednesday 1800-2100. (If you are a day evening student you attend on Monday in year 1 although for year 2 the day is either Monday or Wednesday depending on electives chosen.) There are some workshops that run on Fridays and Saturdays.
You say there are workshops on Fridays and Saturdays, what are they for and do I need to attend them?
Yes you do need to attend them, they are an integral part of the course and are provided to ensure that you have the opportunities to learn about and practice a range of essential HR skills.
When does teaching start?
Orientation and enrolment starts on 11 September for full-time International Human Resource Management and Human Resource Management students, the part-time Human Resource Management MA course begins on 16 September.
Is the course CIPD accredited?
Yes and if you successfully complete the course you will be fully CIPD qualified – there is no higher level of CIPD qualification.
Do I have to join the CIPD?
Yes, but we pay your joining fee and your membership fee for the first period of your membership.
Should I buy any books before the course starts?
No, we will provide you with the books which are considered to be essential reading for the core modules.
Can I take a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management and then do a master’s top up?Not at Westminster Business School. However, our masters is a two-year programme and most postgraduate diplomas at other centres take two years to complete, plus another year if you want to do a masters top-up.
Can I get exemptions?
Only if you have successfully completed equivalent CIPD accredited modules at another centre. If you think you qualify, please contact the course leader.
Will I have to attend at weekends?
