Professor Barbara Allan, PVC and Dean of Westminster Business School, welcomed President and Professor Xiu Gang, Professor Xin Chegg Dean of the School of International Business, Professor Wang Jincheng, Deputy Dean and Wang Lin, Section Chief of the Confucius Institute Office of International Co-operation and Exchange Division who formed a delegation from Tianjin Foreign Studies University.
The welcome was followed by a business meeting with Dr David Hitchcock, Associate Dean, Dr Helen Batley Director of Undergraduate Studies and Dr Jackie Lynch, China Co-ordinator and Principal Lecturer in Marketing. Vicky Li-Ong provided support with interpreting. Following this fruitful meeting, Professor Alexandra Hughes (Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement) formally welcomed the delegation and there was then a signing ceremony in which the President, Professor Xiu Gang and Professor Hughes signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Colleagues at the University of Westminster are excited about this new partnership and look forward to working with colleagues from Tianjin Foreign Studies University to establish student and staff mobility, as well as potential research activities. Following the these meetings, the party visited the Phoenix Palace for lunch. Colleagues from the University of Westminster hope to visit Tianjin Foreign Studies University in the autumn term.
