Westminster Business School Dean Barbara Allan presents Afia Kufuor with a certificate in recognition of her role as TRIBE news curator. TRIBE is an online learning and teaching resource in business and economics, funded by WBS and the Commercial Education Trust www.lccicet.com. The resource can be used by students and teachers and aims to help students appreciate the real world application of economic and business theories.
Afia Kufuor, who is an A level Economics student at Davenant Foundation School in Loughton, has been curating articles and videos for TRIBE over the past two years. Afia has also helped with marketing of TRIBE amongst potential Westminster students at the Undergraduate Open Day. “I have really enjoyed working on TRIBE and it has helped me to keep up with economic news, “ she says. “I only started studying Economics this year and TRIBE has helped me get use to the data response questions in the exam.”
Afia, who hopes to study Economics at University next September, had her essay ‘highly commended’ in the Royal Economic Society Young Economist of the Year 2015 essay competition.
“It was nice to come in to the Uni to meet the Dean and get my certificate and I am looking forward to getting my certificate for the [RES] competition too; its all things to write about on my [UCAS] personal statement,”
