We need to all think about a pension when we retire, there is no point shying away from this issue. I know you are all thinking “we are still students, and want to enjoy life”. You need to seriously start thinking about how you will live when you retire, who is going to pay for medical expenses, food and travel? It definitely will not be the government.
If you start putting a percentage of your wage or salary into a pension pot from now, you will be better off when you retire. Let’s face it for the new generation, we will most likely not get a state pension so we are going to have to start saving by ourselves, by joining a pension scheme from now and inputting money every month.
What is a pension fund investment? A pension fund is any plan, fund, or scheme which provides retirement income. Pension funds are important shareholders of listed and private companies. They are especially important to the stock market where large institutional investors dominate. For those interested in heading towards a career in pension investment and private equity, this is the seminar to attend. I am a student studying BA Business Management – Accounting, I learnt so many new things from the speakers, such as where to invest, what pension investments to target. One that stood out to me was the low risk, medium – high return, can it get any better at this stage of the country’s economic crisis?
I learnt if you start to invest money every year towards your pension which is 20% of your salary, your returns could be as high as £300,000 after 50 years, and so retiring with £300,000 in your bank account is not bad at all. For example if you earn £30,000 per year, 20% of that is figure for the year is £6,000 yearly, multiply it by 50 years of working life, equals £300,000. At any time you can take 25% of your pension investment out which is tax free, if needed for emergency. Please check out the website to request an invite
