I was inspired to write this post after meeting a friend of mine whom I haven’t seen over a year. I was impressed by all the changes that happened to us during this year, I was amazed by how different we were now compared to only last year. It seems that one year doesn’t seem to be a long time however I found out that sometimes it could affect you incredibly.
There were lots of changes in my life during this year and studying at Westminster Business School was one of them. I am very glad that I chose this university as it gave me not only knowledge in marketing but also many new friends from different countries. It also gave me much more – an inspiration to live interesting and an active life. Meeting and communicating with new people on my course as well as learning from such a great teachers motivates me to be more open to the world then I used to be, to discover new exciting things that I haven’t tried before. Therefore, during my studies I have done much more than ever before.
First of all, I made new friends who had defined goals in their lives and passionate believers of they do. Spending a lot of time with such people gives me a vision about my life, and my career ambitions. These help me define my future professional prospects.
Secondly, I have been obtaining not only a theoretical knowledge about things I am interested in, but I also had an opportunity to try myself working in the industry. This experience is the most amazing one I have had during the last year. I have never worked in the UK before; therefore it was interesting and inspiring to work in London. I have learned a variety of things which I believe will be useful in my future career.
These two changes in my life – my university and my work experience – gave me clear vision of what I would like to do when I finish my master degree. Therefore now I feel more comfortable about my future professional life than when I started my course.
Thirdly, despite the stress of the school and work life I still had time to travel. Travelling is my passion, I love to discover new places and meet new cultures. This year my new destination was the Unites States of America. Despite the fact, that this trip was in spring I still have feelings of excitement and joy. It feels like I am loaded with happiness till my new big trip somewhere else.
What I want to say in the end is that I realised it is not enough just to move to a new country and spend all your time reading books and writing notes. There is always and should be a time for new experiences, new achievements and new emotions. It is important to have motivation to broaden your horizons, to move forward. However, sometimes you could feel that you stuck on one place and not moving forward. My advice is to find an inspiration that will keep you on the right path. Being inspired by someone or something one day you’ll become an inspiration to yourself and who knows maybe you’ll inspire someone…
