I just came back from Liverpool, where I spent a couple days last week and I want to share with you my impressions about this city. To be honest, this was not my first trip to this city, I have been there almost three years ago and I fell in love with Liverpool on that trip. And when I came back there second time I fell in love with it again! For some reason this city has inexplicable spirit that attracts you and makes you want to come back. That’s what happened with me at least. I remember we arrived to the city in the evening on Friday night, so we could see the whole city still alive and people spending a good time in pubs, bars and restaurants. Despite the rain and heavy wind we managed to walk a bit near the Albert Dock, which is one of the main sightseeing of the city. There is a Ferris wheel right near it so we couldn’t resist to take around on it. It was amazing to see the night city in the rain and lights! Beautiful view and unforgettable memories!
The next day we dedicated to the legend of Liverpool – the Beatles! Liverpudlians are proud of this legendary group and treat carefully all memories about it. They have an amazing Beatles museum, which is quite big and tells the whole Beatles story mentioning all details about them (for example, you could even see birth certificates of all four members of the group). During the walk around the museum I dipped in the atmosphere of Liverpool in 60th and I felt that I was accompanying the Beatles all the way to their world fame. The other great thing that gives you similar feeling is the Beatles tour – a special bus tour, which drives you around Liverpool and gives you an opportunity to visit ‘the Beatles’ places’ – houses where they grew up, the place where they first met, the garden where they wrote their first song and so on. If you spent the whole day doing the Beatles story you would definitely feel yourself in Liverpool back in those times. Also, you may finish the evening visiting the Cavern pub – a place where the Beatles started. They still have some performances of local bands there.
However, Liverpool is not only about the Beatles! They have a lot of museums down there, which are also worth to be seen. Thus, if you like modern art you would like to visit Tate Liverpool, and if you prefer something more classical then you may visit Walker Art Gallery. You also should visit Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, which will tell you a story about the world famous Titanic! Also, if you decide to visit this museum you may want to take a Merseyside Ferry Tour to look to the city from the water!
So what I want to say in the end is that Liverpool is one of English cities, which is worth to be visited! And I promise you will have indelible impression about it and you will definitely come back there as I did!
