We have developed a meticulously curated mentoring scheme tailored for students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences aimed at enhancing their employability within their specific areas of study. This comprehensive program has been seamlessly integrated into the curriculum, leveraging the collective involvement of faculty, students, local communities, and employers to provide a robust platform to support students in their educational pursuits and future employment prospects.
Our program is designed not only to prepare prospective students before they embark on their degree but also to cater to the needs of those already enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Additionally, we facilitate immersive workshops that engage students, local community leaders, and respected professional business organisations. Importantly, these workshops offer hands-on involvement and multiple roles for undergraduate and postgraduate students, including active participation in course delivery and serving as mentors for prospective students who are preparing to commence their studies at the School/University.
While our current initiatives involve student participation in Applicant Day and Open Day programs, the introduction of this new scheme seeks to formalise and solidify the integral role of students throughout the academic year. This will significantly contribute to the establishment of a cohesive community comprising various stakeholders and foster a more engaging and enriching academic environment.
