Creating a Session Link with the Basic MS Teams Integration
The basic MS Teams integration with Blackboard allows instructors to create a Teams meeting link, which needs to be made available to all enrolled users on the course to join the meeting via the link.
Please Note that this will not create a calendar entry on Blackboard, your Outlook or MS Teams Calendar.
Students will also not get an invite via email; it only creates the meeting link on your course/module site and the Stream for students to join the session by copying and pasting the link to a web browser.
To create the MS Teams session links, please follow the following steps:
Step 1: Launching Teams in Blackboard
1) Under Details & Actions select Books & Tools
2) Under the Books & Course Tools menu on the right-hand side, select MS Teams – Basic integration
Step 2: Creating a Teams Online Session Link
1) Once you have entered the LTI, select Create Meeting Link
2) You will be prompted to name the meeting and specify its start and end times. After entering the details, select Create.
3) Right click Join the meeting now and select Copy link address. This will copy the link to your clipboard, allowing you to embed it into the course content.
Step 3: Embedding Teams Link into the Course Content
1) To embed the Teams link into the course content of your module, click on the plus icon and select Create.
2) Click on Link.
3) Paste the link into the Link URL field that you previously copied. Provide a display name for the online session, as this is what the students will see. Set the visibility of the link according to when you want students to access it.
4) The meeting link has now been successfully created and is visible in the course content.
5) To join the meeting, you will be given 3 options – Download the App, use browser or open Teams app.
