In May 2025, we held a conference entitled New Perspectives on Walking and Wheeling in the City. As part of this, we had a discussion panel asking how bold we can be in pursuit of the walkable city. It was chaired by David Harrison, co-founder of Footways, and featured Rachel Aldred (Director of the ATA), Andrew Gilligan (former cycling/transport adviser to Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak), Adam Harrison (transport lead at Camden), James McAsh (transport lead at Southwark) and Caroline Russell (member of the London Assembly and Islington councillor). It was a very stimulating discussion so we decided to tidy up the recording and offer it as a podcast. Listen to the recording or read the transcript, as you prefer. Thanks to Alternative Stories for audio editing and transcription assistance.
