The University of Westminster organises the Difference Festival each year, exploring ideas that can make a difference to society. This year’s theme is Truth, and the Active Travel Academy is contributing an event on Wednesday 26th February at 6pm, on Cars: the new tobacco?
Why do cars (and the industry that produces and promotes them) still have such a hold over us? And how should we (academics, policy-makers, the public) challenge this? Join our expert panel, including leading active travel journalist Laura Laker, psychologist Dr. Ian Walker, air pollution expert Dr. Audrey de Nazelle and Transport Lead for the London Borough of Hackney Jon Burke, to find out more, and discuss ways forward.
The event is free, and followed by a drinks reception at 8pm, but attendees need to register here.
