The inaugural Graduate School Festival Image Competition, with the theme of “Your research in action”, was a festival highlight.
Entries were displayed anonymously in Fyvie Hall throughout Festival week and online via the Festival website, with the winners announced at the 3MT Final on Thursday 8th June.
Judges Prize
The Judging Panel this year consisted of Head Judge Dr Emanuela Volpi (Acting Deputy Director of the Graduate School, School of Life Sciences), Dr Sara Dominici (School of Humanities), Dr Pinar Demir (School of Management and Marketing) and Dr Jini Rawlings (School of Art).
In their feedback the judges said that to capture the complexities of a research project in one image was a challenging task and they highly commended the creativity, effort and ingenuity of those who participated. The range of images gave an insight into the quality and breadth of the research being undertaken and were a wonderful example of how to bring specialist research to a wider audience.
