The Graduate School Festival is back for 2026!
Between 16 and 18 June 2026 we will be hosting a range of events showcasing the work of our Doctoral Researchers.
Full programme details will be available soon. Sign up is required for all events. You can do so by following the registration links for each event. Registration will close an hour before the event.
If the event is online you will receive a confirmation email two days before the event with a link to join the meeting, which you should follow at the relevant start time. If the event is in-person please just head to the event venue as specified below.

Graduate School Festival 2026 Programme
16 June, 11am – 1pm: Thinking of Doing a PhD Panel
Are you thinking about doing a PhD? This is a great place to start!
This online event will help to demystify the whole process! You will hear from our panel of current doctoral researchers about their experiences and, more importantly, have a chance to ask them questions.

16 June, 5:15pm – 8pm: Alice Walker: Beauty In Truth – film screening and Q&A
Join us for a screening of Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth and a Q&A with filmmaker and current University of Westminster doctoral Researcher Pratibha Parmar at the wonderful Regent Street Cinema.

17 June, 10:30am – 12pm: “Why should you podcast?” – podcasting workshop
This workshop will explore why academics should build podcasting into their impact and engagement plans. This session will cover what makes a ‘good’ academic/research focused podcast and why they are valuable modes of research dissemination.

18 June, 10:00am – 12pm: Research Impact: creating meaning and value
This event aims to set you up for a day of Impact in the Graduate School Festival! We’ll have some of Westminster’s ‘Impact Stars’ give their insights via panel discussion followed by personalised advice for your own research.

18 June, 1pm – 4pm :From theory to impact: An interactive Doctoral Workshop
This peer-led interactive workshop invites doctoral researchers to reflect on how their theoretical frameworks shape the direction, contribution, and impact of their research.

18 June, 5:30pm – 8pm: UoW Graduate School 3MT Competition 2026
Join us for this years University of Westminster Graduate School 3MT Competition where participants take on the challenge of presenting an 80,000 word thesis in just 3 minutes and with only 1 slide!
